The Subject leadership and the New Education Inspection Framework

This 1 day course, was led by Paul Longden and enabled participants to explore key aspects of the role of subject leadership as well as looking at the professional skills required to be effective in it.

There was a significant focus on how Subject Leaders can:

• develop their subject specific curricular intent, implementation and impact

• ensure subject knowledge and skills are developed and well sequenced across all key stages in their school

• tailor their monitoring and evaluation activities so that they are effective in demonstrating impact and informing next steps

The course explored a range of strategies that helped leaders feel confident if their subject. In addition, delegates gained a better understanding about the role of senior leaders, middle leaders, teachers and children in evaluating and shaping the quality of education that a school provides. The course provided a range of templates and resources to support the subject leader in their role.
